He Was a Great Man

One week ago today I had the honor to ride my motorcycle as my siblings and I escorted my Dad on his last 'ride' through town as we laid him to rest after fighting a tenacious fight against cancer.  Dad was a fighter as he fought that horrible disease off and on since the early '90's.  Those of us left will remember him as a kind and giving man - having never met a stranger in his life, always willing to share and teach his many talents to anyone interested, taking care of his neighborhood, but mostly as a great example.  An example of a great spouse, caring friend, humanitarian beyond words.  I learned my love of the great outdoors from him, how to teach that love from him, and the importance of paying it forward by ensuring the traditions are continued not only with those my own age, but to ensure our youth have the opportunity to gain my same passions.

A tribute video to the man I called "Dad" - a little long, but the best I could do.
