Salt lick found?

Do you think this fawn found the salt lick under all the snow?

Mom wasn't about to let the kid have it all to him/herself............

Share and share a like now!

I'm sure they will be back tomorrow. Maybe I can find some corn for them also.

Morning Sunrise

Just took this picture of the morning sunrise standing on the back deck. No doubt where the cloud bank ends! The turkeys were gobbling when I stepped out to take the shot. What a wonderful place we live!

Contractors

So, last Tuesday (the day Bill flew out) the bathroom lights started doing stupid things. Stupid, like, you turn them on, they turn themselves off one by one and come back on at their discretion. Not a good thing. Then Friday, the heater fan just stopped working. Nothing happens when Bill is home, everything happens when he's gone. It's the rule.

I asked the dirt guy if he knows of an electrician in the Spearfish area, I'll pay for one to drive from Rapid, but would rather not. He gives me the name, Donahue, Wires Are Us. Ryan even had his phone number without looking it up. I'm impressed!

Yesterday just after lunch I call Donahue and let him know how I got his phone number and that Ryan says he's an electrician. Donahue says yes. I say, well I need one. Donahue says, "That's a good thing!" I like this guy, he has a sense of humor! Lucky for me, Donahue has a crew in Spearfish and "Give me your cell phone number, they'll call and let you know when they'll be headed home; you just go about your business and do whatever you were going to do for the afternoon." What? Did I hear this guy right? I don't have to sit and wait for someone to show up when THEY get around to it?

20 minutes later, as I'm headed into the grocery store, I get a phone call from the crew saying they'll be leaving Spearfish in about an hour. Perfect timing; I'll be heading home in about 40 minutes so I have time to stop at the Post Office.
Here's the best part......they showed up!
About 1 1/2 hours after I talked to them! Right on schedule! WOW! This is TWO contractors in a row doing what they say they will do!

These two guys come in, take one look at the lights and tell me I have the wrong light bulbs; they put the right ones in, give me the box so I can get more. Cool. Then they pull the fan housing apart, uh oh, the motor is burned out. The heater coil still heats up, but the motor won't run. Then they tell me they can try to find it and order it, but it will be faster and cheaper "if you write down this model number and get on line and get it yourself". What? A contractor telling me how to save money? Pinch me! I MUST be dreaming! During all this, while they are working, one of them says "If I saw a lion out there I would shoot it." What? You're a lion hunter? I sit on the edge of the jacuzzi tub and talk hunting and shooting with these guys. How cool is that?

I'M HAPPY LIVING IN THE BLACK HILLS!

I have no idea how much it cost me to have an electrician here, BUT, Donahue's number is in my phone as my new found electrician!
