Pactola Lake

I promised more pictures to follow so here you go!  Casey and I spent yesterday afternoon at Pactola Lake.

I wanted to hike but Casey, on the other hand, was far more concerned with swimming than hiking.  Guess we both got to do what we wanted, sort of.  Casey would have preferred swimming the ENTIRE time, but I wanted her to dry off so made her get out of the lake the last hour we were hiking.

A cove on Pactola Lake.

Lots of petrified wood throughout the Black Hills.

Naw.....she doesn't like to swim!

The island on Pactola....Have no idea how they got the flag out there,
but I smile every time I drive past and see it.
God Bless America!

Indian Summer has arrived.................

Yesterday Casey and I went for a hike here in the hills,
even had Casey working on a few birds.

Mother Nature was in all her splendor, a few greens, lots of gold, with a bit of red splashed in.
She sure is pretty in the fall.

I had forgotten what the mountains smell like this time of year....
There is no mistaken the smell of Indian Summer.

Indian Summer is my second favorite time of year;
enjoying every last minute.
For this wondrous display of color won't last forever.

Trail to the Falls.

Roughlock Falls

Trail to the falls.

 Spearfish Canyon

Eagle Cliff Trail

Yes, I have a collapsible snoopy bowl for Casey when we hike.

 Bridal Veil Falls

Spearfish Creek

God smiled on us when we chose to move to the Black Hills.  It's just as pretty as Wyoming, just has different sights to enjoy.

More pictures to follow as Casey and I enjoy the last of the beautiful weather!

The New Wheels

Whens the last time you knew either one of us to drive a CAR?!?!?!?

It was just time for us to get something a little more economical to run back and forth with than 2 four wheel drive trucks.  We kept both trucks as in the winter one HAS to have four wheel drive to get in and out of the subdivision when the storms hit.  Sure do like that we've had it for a full week and just now need to start thinking about stopping at the gas station!  It really does get GREAT mileage!

Innocent..........

She looks innocent enough................

Right??????

NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Casey has figured out how to open the door between the house and the garage.
When I told Bill, his response:  "Well, she is an advanced child you know!"
Grrr-e-a-t.......
I've heard of child proof locks...........
Any ideas on how to make "dog proof" locks?

Free Groceries????

This guy (4x4) came in for some free groceries this morning.  Very symmetrical, pretty rack, although not real heavy.  Just haven't seen any bucks over here that count as "the buck" to go after.

Poor Pitiful Casey!

Poor Pitiful Casey (doesn't she look abused!) had to stay home last night while I went to the annual Pheasant's Forever Banquet in Rapid City.  You can count on one hand how many times she has had to "stay home" so she got a new toy.

I think she survived just fine........and the toy was just a bonus to not having to spend the night in the garage!
