Thanksgiving Turkeys and their buddy

I just happened to look out the bedroom window this morning and all the Tom's have come back. (The mountain lion must be on the other side of the subdivison.) What do you think......are they fat enough for dinner next week?

I guess this guy had an itch or something!

Their buddy came along for a free meal also.

Did Mother Nature REALLY intend for these guys to be pals?

Frustrated!!!!

Have NO idea what I am doing wrong that no one can leave comments on this thing. Thanks to Summer for trying to talk me through fixing it, but nothing seems to work. I've even changed the security settings so you don't even have to do the word verification step.....Grrrrr.......Maybe I'm just not cut out for this internet stuff!

Elk Hunting

Well, we went to Jackson the last week of October when the weather SHOULD have already hit and the elk should have been moving. Obviously they didn't get the memo we were on our way. The second to last morning we were there we finally saw one elk (no idea if it was a bull or cow) so we decided to go after it. After a 1300 foot ascent, it was gone, but the view was beautiful!

The Snake River Canyon just below Hoback Junction (Jackson Hole, WY).

The Teton's in the background.

We got home and missed the storm that had come through and it was 60*! Any question why we couldn't find any elk?

Curt and Renan's visit

Curt and Renan came for a visit last week so we did the tourist thing. Went to Mt. Rushmore and to Crazy Horse - no pictures of Crazy Horse though.

Mt. Rushmore is an amazing sculpture. Bill and I drove past last fall when we came to South Dakota the first time, but hadn't gone in to see it closer. I just don't understand how someone can look at a mountain, and just start blasting and it come out perfectly. Guess I'm not an artist.

Curt, Renan and Bill. Should have asked someone to take a picture of all us - oh well.

Anytime we have been in the Rushmore area we've always seen Mountain Goats. These guys have some pretty hefty radio collars on.

As usual, had a great time with Curt and Renan! Can't wait for the next visit!

Security update

Ok, I told you all I really don't know what I'm doing on the blogging thing. I've been told it is difficult to leave comments by a couple people and I just figured out why. It should be fixed now so that any of you can comment if you please. Thanks for the patients in my figuring this out.
