Camping: Chamberlain, SD last weekend

Early last week we FINALLY found a camper in our price range that wasn't a piece of trash.  It wasn't even hard to clean-up!  We took it and the boat to Chamberlain, on the Missouri River, for a dry run to see how it's going to work out.  They have damed the river there and created Lake Francis Case.   The water was WONDERFUL!  I had no idea that lakes could be 75.8-78.5 degrees!  So nice to be in water that was above 45*!  We think this camper just might be a keeper!

Sunset, the night we got there.
After blowing a tire on his truck before even getting out of Rapid, I'm thinkin' a cocktail was deserved!

We met some kids at the boat ramp that were fascinated with the kayaks.  After giving both of them lessons, the little girl decided she prefered to let her brother do the work and she would just go a long for the ride!

Casey's first kayak float!

The 2nd night we were there, we got almost 2" of rain in less than 20 minutes.  This was after the 4" inches they'd received the night before we got there.  The ground was a little saturated!

The only fish we (I) caught all weekend!

The Missouri River was a floatin' his boat!

Bill decided Casey needed to learn to drive the boat!

Wake-up and play with me!

Please play with me!  I want to play with you!!!

The new digs!
Sure was nice to go into a dry camper after gettin' all that rain!  I never camped in such style before!  LOL

Having to be tethered all weekend was kind of a bummer.  Good thing she is a good sport!
We're lookin' forward to the next camp trip!  I still gotta clean it up before the next run though.  Good times had by all!  Life IS good!
Do you think she likes her frisbee?
This was an after thought.  LOL

4th of July Weekend

Happy Birthday America!

Our friend Tracey came from Fort Collins, CO and spent the long weekend with us.  Probably a good thing Bill was home to chaperon, who knows what kind of trouble we could have found!  (Those of you that remember us from the good ol' Cody days, can vouch that Whitewood might not have been prepared!  LOL)

Bill worked on getting my front yard put in while Tracey and I went to a Sisters of the Second Amendment (http://www.2asisters.org) handgun shoot.  (Sorry, no pics of the shoot - no opportunities presented.)  The shoot was a women's self defense shoot with an array of pistols to choose from!  If you have any interest in attending one, click on the link for information or let me know.  The last I knew, there were still some openings for the Sept. 5th shoot.

Bill working hard on the neighbor's tractor.

Still working hard!

The Queen surveying her land.

"Don't even think about taking my bone!"

Tracey got wine markers......

Casey had to help open the present she gave the Great Crazy Aunt Tracey.

Crazy Aunt Tracey decided that Casey needed a pool.

Maybe if I go in, she'll come in with me!

Casey has been in the pool multiple times, we just haven't had the camera.

Thanks for coming Tracey!  We're ALL looking forward to your next visit!

The Morgan Crew's Visit

The Morgan family stopped for a visit on their way home to Cody and Meeteetse, WY.  A long drive from Frederick, Maryland with a long drive ahead of them.  Ultimately, they will be landing in Hawaii as Ryan in an active soldier in the U.S. Army and has just been transferred.

A short stop at Lake Pactola.

Boys will be boys!  Have to play in the mud - it's the rules!

A family shot at Mount Rushmore.....
Liam, Ryan, Carter, and Shauna.

Little Liam.

All the kids playing.

Carter returning from "a travel" in the backyard.

I think Shauna and Ryan had more fun with the bubble wands than the kids!

Tell me, Shauna's not having fun!

We only had one day to play so couldn't take a lot of time at any one stop.  Very disappointed that the "dynamite" exhibition was closed at Mt. Rushmore.  I was looking forward to having the kids "blow-up" part of the mountain.  Guess this means they will have to come back!
